Simon Holmes à Court
Simon Holmes à Court is senior advisor to the Energy Transition Hub at Melbourne University and sits on the advisory board of the Melbourne Energy Institute. He has been a pioneering force in the Australian community power movement, as the founding chair of Hepburn Wind, the country's first community owned wind farm, and founder of Embark Australia, a non-profit consultancy helping communities share in the benefits of local renewable energy.
Gordon is a partner at Brunswick’s Beijing Office. He has extensive experience in cross-culture communications and government relations. Gordon joined Brunswick in the summer of 2013, prior to which he served at the Chinese embassy, and a ministry for economic affairs with the Chinese central government with a couple of secondments to Chinese trade associations. Gordon acts as a senior consultant to clients with a focus on government relations, crisis communications, communications for cross-border transactions and cross-culture operations.
Buhle currently works as a Senior Communications Officer for Africa for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. She has over 20 years’ experience working with international development agencies, diplomatic missions and the NGO sector in the areas of program management, advocacy, communications and monitoring & evaluation. Buhle holds two Masters’ degrees; one a Master of Social Science (MSc) in International Relations and another a Master of Commerce (MCom) in Organizational Psychology, Specializing in Monitoring & Program Evaluation from the University of Cape Town. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, a Post Graduate in Media and Communication Studies, another Post-Graduate in Health and HIV/AIDS Management and a Diploma in Public Relations. She is originally from Zimbabwe.
David Parker has been living and working in Hong Kong for 28 years, and is an Executive Director & the Chief Executive Officer of ENM Holdings Limited, a public company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (#00128) the largest shareholder of which is the Chinachem Group. Mr. Parker is also the Chairman of its Investment Committee.
He has extensive senior managerial experience in both listed and unlisted companies in Hong Kong in industries including financial services, property development, hotels ownership and operation, and oil transportation, logistics and storage. Before joining ENM, Mr. Parker had been the chief executive officer or the chief operating officer of companies listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and from 2009-2017, held various positions in the Chinachem Group, including chief operating officer, director of corporate governance and executive director with responsibilities at various times including investments, legal, corporate secretarial, insurance, internal controls, information technology, hotel operations, cinema operations and corporate social responsibility activities, and had represented it for various external investments and bodies. He has considerable private equity investment experience on his own behalf and on behalf of various companies in Vietnam, China and Indonesia.
Mr. Parker was previously appointed by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) to its Working Group on the restructuring of the Financial Services Industry, which led to the reform of the margin financing and capital adequacy laws relating to the brokerage industry in Hong Kong.
Being an active practitioner and evangelist in user experience design and research since 1998, and serial entrepreneur since 2012, John Woo founded Google China's UX team (the first Google UX team outside of US) in 2006, Sinovation Ventures’ (a leading VC) UX team in 2010, INWAY Design (an experience design lab) in 2012, co-founded FangCheng.cn (the first big-data platform for commercial spaces in China) in 2014, and co-founded WealthBetter.com (a fintech company) in 2015. He returned to Sinovation Ventures as VP of AI Institute in 2017, starting a new adventure with the coming age of artificial intelligence. John helped a couple of hundreds of startups and established companies to shape or improve products and services.
